Beach Boy

The beginning of summer, the continued momentum of the seasons. It is the first time I’m at the beach in a city that I reside in. Finding simple pleasures in watching the current touch the shore and roll back out to a vast body of water. A similar experience to being in an overwhelming relationship with someone that you thought was going to be as vast as the ocean but like the wave that barely touched your feet, they roll back to where they once came from.

It can be an overwhelming feeling, the feeling of healing because it is about returning to a new form of normalcy. Normalcy with and without a presence you grew familiar with but with it comes the battle against contentment and peace. But it eventually arrives and like that one wave, you start to recognise the rhythm of the current again and you move with it.

I continue to be filled with a renewed sense of gratitude. For my health, wealth and wellbeing. Blessed are those that show gratefulness over what is left rather than hatred over what has been lost.
